چکیده

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation with nano-curcumin (NCur) and a nano-curcumin/chitosan blend (NCur/Ch) on growth performance, digestibility, immune response, antioxidant status, intestinal morphometric characters, gene regulation in Nile tilapia. Fish (n = 180, initial body weight 12.0 ± 0.53 g) received supplementary NCur at rates 0 (control), 0.00625, 0.0125, NCur/Ch 0.00625 + 0.5 g/kg diet for 4 weeks. Growth performance parameters (final length, mass gain, specific growth, length gain rates) were markedly increased, feed conversion ratio was significantly decreased NCur- NCur/Ch-supplemented groups. Digestive enzyme (amylase), response markers (immunoglobulin M, nitrous oxide, lysozyme activity), plasma albumin, total protein increased significantly, mainly supplemented g NCur/kg. Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine (ALT), glucose, cortisol levels groups compared control. Significantly glutathione peroxidase (GPx) malondialdehyde (MDA) observed group. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity improved 0.0125 Intestinal including villus width, interspace, goblet cell abundance, cope associated upregulation insulin-like factor 1 (igf-1) complement C-5 (cc5) control Therefore, an could be tilapia diets as natural alternative promote digestion, liver function, related expression O. niloticus.

INFLUENCE OF WATERBORNE CADMIUM ON THE GROWTH AND IMMUNE-PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF NILE TILAPIA (Oreochromis niloticus)

Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (65.2±2.2 g) were randomly distributed into 12 glass aquaria to represent 4 treatments (3 replicates per treatment). Fish were exposed to cadmium chloride at concentrations of 0.0 (control), 0.05 (T1), 0.10 (T2) and 0.15 mg L -1 (T3) for 4 weeks. After the first, third and fourth week, fish were immediately anesthetized and blood was collected. Fish weight wa...

Visual communication stimulates reproduction in Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (L.).

Reproductive fish behavior is affected by male-female interactions that stimulate physiological responses such as hormonal release and gonad development. During male-female interactions, visual and chemical communication can modulate fish reproduction. The aim of the present study was to test the effect of visual and chemical male-female interaction on the gonad development and reproductive beh...

Potentiality of Moringa oleifera aqueous extract as a growth modulator and antistress in acute hypoxic Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus

This study aims to get a comprehensive evaluation of the growth promoting effects and the hypoxic stress relief potentiality of Moringa oleifera aqueous extracts. Oreochromis niloticus fingerlings were arbitrarily allocated into five duplicated fish groups (30 fish tank-1). The fish groups were labeled according to the M. oleifera aqueous extract dietary inclusion level (G1:G5). MOAE had fundam...

Behaviours Associated with Acoustic Communication in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)

BACKGROUND Sound production is widespread among fishes and accompanies many social interactions. The literature reports twenty-nine cichlid species known to produce sounds during aggressive and courtship displays, but the precise range in behavioural contexts is unclear. This study aims to describe the various Oreochromis niloticus behaviours that are associated with sound production in order t...

Heterogeneous growth fingerlings of the Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus: effects of density and initial size variability.

In this study, the effect of initial heterogeneity of weight and density on heterogeneous growth (HetG) evaluated by the coefficient of the variation of weight in the young Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus of the territorial species was tested. Fish were maintained in a glass aquarium (8 and 2 L of water) with two levels of initial heterogeneity of weight: low and high, under two density cond...
